Benefactors
The Merinoff Symposia, operated by the independent 501(c)3 non-profit Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, is grateful to the benefactors who have made this symposium series possible.
Herman Merinoff

A philanthropist, businessman and lawyer, Herman Merinoff was involved with the North Shore-LIJ Health System for decades, first as a trustee of North Shore University Hospital and more recently as chairman of the board of The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. During the time leading up to his election as chair, he had participated as an active board member since the founding of The Feinstein Institute in the late 1990s.
In 2004, Mr. Merinoff and his wife Susan provided a generous gift to endow The Susan & Herman Merinoff Center for Patient-Oriented Research, which is an important resource in the discovery and diagnosis of human disease and the development of new treatments. Throughout his life, Mr. Merinoff also devoted much time and energy to countless other philanthropic endeavors. His dedication was recognized with numerous awards from organizations such as the National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse, American Cancer Society, Fund for Higher Education and Anti-Defamation League.
In fitting tribute to Mr. Merinoff’s deeply generous and forward-thinking spirit, The Feinstein Institute hosts the Merinoff Symposia, a series of international meetings featuring celebrated leaders in biomedical research.
